The gift to heal is perhaps one of the greatest blessings bestowed to us” Dr Ebrahim Patel, better known as “Ebi”, has a deep rooted passion for endodontic therapy and has dedicated himself fully to the science of endodontics. Ebi obtained his BDS and MScDent (Endodontics) qualifications from Wits University in 2008 and 2014 and has received numerous awards including the Hugo Retief Award (IADR SA), the South African Dental Association Leadership Medal, African Oxygen Bronze Medal, Sid Setzer-Millners Paedodontic Prize, Public Oral Health Prize and Golden key award for academic excellence at Wits. He is currently the Head of Preclinical Teaching in Operative Dentistry and Endodontics at the School of Oral Health Sciences (Wits University), and actively teaches and supervises undergraduate and postgraduate students. Ebi’s expertise is constantly sought after to train private dentists at events, workshops and conferences. He has published his research and reviews both locally and internationally and strongly believes that South Africa has the potential to offer world class endodontic treatment. Ebi aspires to maintain endodontic practice at the very best international standards by offering his patients the very latest technological advances in root canal therapy.
